Sundays with ATIS
Sunday in the Sun: Battersea Park Takeover x Wimbledon Final 13th July was one for the books, our very first event at Battersea Park and what a way to kick it off! The energy was sky high with the Wimbledon Final, Alcaraz vs Sinner, on the horizon, and tickets sold out within an hour. The response to these sessions continues to blow us away, proving there’s a real hunger for social tennis and meaningful connection.
We took over four of the park’s freshly resurfaced courts with more than 40 players joining us for sunshine, rallies, and new friendships.
We were buzzing to team up with ATIS, who brought the flavour with their plant powered grain bowls and salads, perfectly paired with strong protein options. The cherry on top? The day kicked off just before midday, as we were greeted by the lovely Taryn & Georgia from Hello Sunday, our SPF heroes. Their goody bags kept us sun safe all afternoon (and we definitely needed it… hello heatwave).
After a classic one lap warm up, we dove into partner ball drills and tap rallies, followed by forehand and backhand hitting exercises with prizes up for grabs. Big shoutout to H&M Move for providing the stylish kit. We wrapped up the session with our crowd favourite King & Queen of the court, with plenty of water breaks to keep everyone hydrated.
One of the most beautiful things about these socials is seeing connections spark through the love of the game. Players from all levels, from total beginners to seasoned hitters, come together effortlessly. We heard stories of people rediscovering tennis after years away, and how this community reignited their passion. That’s exactly why we do this.
We love asking how people find us, many through Instagram, others via word of mouth, but a standout surprise was someone who discovered us through a recent Financial Times feature (Read here). A moment we’re still pinching ourselves over. Who would’ve thought a year ago we’d be here?
What really sticks with us is the diversity, people from all walks of life, cities, and countries showing up and bringing the best vibes. As always, we wrapped up with a group photo, balls flying in the air (thanks Gunner at LVBL for the inspo). Then we strolled over to ATIS’s new Battersea location for a post tennis refuel. Seriously, the salads hit the spot. It’s wild to think we’re now collaborating with brands like ATIS. Truly a ‘wow, we’re here’ moment.
To cap things off, we hit the pub to catch the epic Wimbledon final. With fans split between Alcaraz and Sinner, it made for a lively watch with Sinner clinching it in four sets. The night carried on with laughs, Pimm’s, and good vibes all around.
