Tennis Is Better Together: Bisque at the Laver Cup 2026

Tennis Is Better Together: Bisque at the Laver Cup 2026

Three days of tennis. One Laver Cup trophy. Community in the stands.

This year we took 60 members of the Bisque community to the Laver Cup in London, and it's an experience none of us will forget.

If you haven't come across it, think of the Laver Cup as tennis's answer to golf's Ryder Cup. Team Europe takes on Team World, six players a side, over three days of singles and doubles. It was co-founded by Roger Federer as a way to honour Australian tennis legend Rod Laver.

The format is what makes it so fun to watch. Every match win is worth points, and the stakes rise each day: one point per win on day one, two on day two and three on day three. Matches are best of three sets, with a deciding match tiebreak instead of a full third set. The first team to 13 points lifts the trophy, so the result often goes right down to the wire.

Organising 60 people for a weekend like this was no small job. But watching it all come together made every late night spreadsheet worth it.

Friday night: straight into it

Our Friday night started in the Fan Zone, which kept everyone entertained before heading inside. There were beers from our friends at Stella Artois, the Wilson store, plenty of food outlets and the Serve Challenge, where our very own Orji set the fastest serve of the weekend at 113mph!

Some say he has the fastest serve in London, and nobody has proven otherwise yet. If Orji looks familiar, that's because he's a regular at our socials and always generous with his time helping out. So maybe it's time for a "Beat Orji's Serve" challenge at a future Bisque social. Consider yourselves warned.

Inside, the action kicked off with Jódar vs Bublik, followed by Alcaraz and Mensik teaming up in the doubles against Fritz and Bublik. The arena was electric from the first ball, and thanks to the Laver Cup we had incredible seats right behind the court.

Honestly, it felt a bit like a school trip (for grownups, of course). Travelling as a big group, arriving together, finding our seats together and heading home still buzzing about the same matches. As adults, we rarely get that feeling unless it's a work outing or corporate day out. This time it was simply a group of people brought together by a shared love of tennis, and that made it feel even more special.

Before you knew it, we were back on Saturday night for another brilliant evening.

Alcaraz vs Fritz turned into one of the standout matches of the weekend. Alcaraz saved match points and came through in a deciding match tiebreak, and the whole arena was buzzing. Seeing him play in the flesh is something else.

Then there was the crowd. Federer was there, alongside Anna Wintour, Zara and Mike Tindall, Andy Murray and plenty of other familiar faces from tennis and beyond.

But there's something different when Federer is in the building. 20 Grand Slam titles, 8 Wimbledon crowns and years as the face of the sport, and you can feel the whole arena shift when he appears. Heads turn, phones go up and a ripple runs around the stands. For a lot of us, he's the player who made us fall in love with tennis in the first place, so catching even a glimpse of him in the flesh was a moment in itself. It was pretty surreal.

Team Europe went on to win the Laver Cup 13-5 on Sunday. Flavio Cobolli and Jakub Mensik beat Alex de Minaur and Taylor Fritz in the doubles, then Alexander Zverev beat Learner Tien in straight sets to seal the trophy and cap off a brilliant weekend in London.

We left fully entertained, having finally experienced the Laver Cup in London. A huge thank you to the Laver Cup for having us. It's a weekend we'll be talking about for a long time.

Why weekends like this matter

What's been so refreshing is seeing more tournaments open their doors to communities like ours. Everyone in our group is hugely passionate about the sport. Coming together to watch the best players in the world, get inspired and share it all makes it even more special.

Tournaments like the Laver Cup, Boodles and UTS are making tennis feel more accessible, and giving groups like ours the chance to experience the sport together.

That's what we want Bisque to keep creating: more opportunities to watch, play, connect and be inspired by the sport we all love.

One of our favourite parts of the weekend was seeing new and familiar faces come together. Some people were meeting for the first time, and some were watching professional tennis live for the first time. Watching those first time moments happen, and seeing people who arrived as strangers leave as friends, is exactly why we create experiences like this.

Whether you've been with us from the start or you're just finding us, there's always a seat for you.

Tennis is better together.
